The Havasu Art Guild History
The concept of the Havasu Arts & Crafts Association was started in Lake Havasu City in 1971 with Jan Harmon as president.
The Havasu Art Guild, as it is today, was formed in 1978. The steering committee was Joan Barry, Barry Gray and Elenor Smith as the first Art Guild president. The objective of the Guild was to encourage individual and community interest in the creative arts and crafts, and the development if the members natural abilities in all areas of artistic endeavors.
The Aquatic Center opened in November 1994. The artwork is exhibited in the display cases in the Hall and the artwork is changed every four months.
The Mohave County Library opened its doors in Lake Havasu City in 1999 and has space dedicated for artwork. Both members and non-members are allowed to put up artwork. For more information you can contact the Mohave County Library.
Our newest gallery is on the Art Guild website. Several members have contributed artwork to the gallery and have links to their own webpages.

The Havasu Art Guild
The Havasu is a non-profit organization with over 150 members. Our members consist of people of all ages interested in promoting and participating in creative visual arts and crafts.
The Havasu Art Guild is here to:
- Provide an opportunity for artists and artisans to display their artwork for awards and profit.
- Aid in the development of skills and artistic abilities of our young people and community members interested in visual arts by providing workshops, seminars and allied activities.
- Award Scholarships to our high school and college students
- Offer you the opportunity t participate by becoming a member – regardless of your skill level or area of artistic interest.
The Havasu Art Guild Membership
Membership with the Guild entitles the member to place artwork in galleries and attend Art Guild sponsored workshops and demonstrations by accomplished arts and crafts instructors. The membership included placing work in the website gallery if desired and having a link to your own page.
The Guild meets the fourth Monday of every month, 6:30pm an the Library.
Members who enter the Art Guild sponsored shows receive a discount for their entry fee.
